Course content
The course familiarizes fire prevention patrol members with their duties, fire hazards, raising the fire alarm, calling the fire brigade, and using firefighting equipment.
- Fire prevention patrol duties — monitoring workplace fire safety and responsibilities in the event of a fire
- Fire hazards — the likelihood of a fire and the severity of its potential consequences
- Providing assistance — evacuation, reporting a fire, and initial firefighting response
- Firefighting — when to intervene and when not to, what to extinguish, which equipment and techniques to use, and hazardous situations
- Firefighting equipment and fire safety systems — fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire detection and alarm systems, and automatic fire suppression systems
Important notice — the course does not replace practical training.
Fire prevention patrol training primarily provides practical preparation for responding to a fire at a specific workplace. The course covers the general theoretical component under Section 24(3) of Decree No. 246/2001 Coll. The employer supplements this with workplace‑specific information and practical training under Section 24(4), delivered at the workplace by a qualified fire protection specialist or fire protection technician (Section 16a of Act No. 133/1985 Coll.).
